Sensium was originally founded as Snitch Inc in 2005, developing hardware and a web-based mapping and tracking platform. We saw an opening for a high-quality consumer vehicle tracking product branded SnitchGPS. Soon after, and due to the majority of enquiries coming from businesses, we developed and launched our commercial vehicle tracking product, ArmadaGPS.
We revolutionised the GPS Tracking industry in NZ and was recognised by Waitakere City as the winner of the Innovation in Business Award.
We were nominated and actively supported in the Business Awards and in our growth by the Westpac Bank who recognised and acknowledged our growth and significance in the NZ market.
In 2011 we opened our doors in Australia, with our initial office in Brisbane City then moving in 2014 to Springwood, moving again in 2021 to our new Installation and Development Centre in Seventeen Mile Rocks.
2015 saw a change in the business structure, with Snitch Inc being split into three separate entities. This was done to allow each business entity to specialise, and be accountable for their role in the providing this product.
In 2017 Snitch Inc has been relaunched as Sensium, and as such:
- Sensium is the business "front end", providing sales and support our New Zealand customers.
- GPSengine is the software development company, now based in Springwood, QLD. GPSengine is responsible for developing and maintaining the vehicle tracking platforms and offering second level technical support to Snitch Inc and other resellers.
- TRACKbox has recently been created to continue the development of our world-leading GPS tracking hardware.
Our industry leading GPS tracking platform is now available globally and is being used by companies in many countries. Still being led by Jeremy McLean, one of the original founders, we see substantial growth in the years to come.
